Elshan Rustamov

Elshan Rustamov is an experienced development consultant with a proven track record in the international development industry. His experience includes management of various social and sustainability aspects within projects financed or managed by international financial institutions (World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and multi-(bi-)lateral development organizations (UN, GIZ).As a senior social development consultant, he has advised and supported WB and ADB project teams on infrastructure and social projects in different sectors (transport, education, health, water, railway, power supply, alternative energy, social protection, etc.) during various project cycles.Elshan’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in International Development and an MSc in Strategic Sustainability from prestigious universities in Azerbaijan, the UK and Sweden. He has also participated in a number of advanced training and certification programs in Austria, Canada, the USA, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sweden and the UK.He has worked in various countries in the areas of sustainable growth, strategic planning, social development, environmental and social due diligence, labor management, stakeholder engagement, land acquisition/resettlement, grievance redress, cultural heritage, community health and safety, and compliance monitoring and assessment. His work experience covers Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkey, India, Ethiopia, Tanzania, the Philippines, the UK and Sweden.
